2017 Best Results Ever

25th August 2017

Paul Tarn, The Chief Executive of Delta Academies Trust, will be joining staff and students at John Whitgift Academy this morning to congratulate and celebrate with them following what is likely to be one of the largest school performance improvements nationally.  John Whitgift’s Principal, Rob Spendlow, along with his team, have worked incredibly hard with students and benefitted from highly supportive parents to transform outcomes.  This year the Academy celebrates the best results they have ever had.   These improvements were reflected across all subject areas but particularly pleasing were the huge gains made in Maths, English and Science.

We would like to draw particular attention to a number of students that excelled and should be very proud of themselves: Olivia Emmerson (2 A*, 5 A’s, 2 B’s), Lucy Ellis (2 A*, 3 A’s, 4 B’s), Ryan Hill (1 A*, 3 A’s, 4 B’s) and Ebony Scrimshaw (1 A*, 4 A’s, 4 B’s).

The Principal, Rob Spendlow, said “not a bad first year, we are just getting warmed up”.

Paul Tarn, Chief Executive Officer of Delta Academies Trust, said “I am delighted that the dedication of students, staff and parents has been rewarded in these excellent results.  The results achieved by the students are testament both to their hard work and to that of their teachers.   I recognise the exceptional improvements in performance across the Academy and this is reflective of the amazing commitment and professionalism of teachers and other Academy staff who have supported students at this important and testing time.

We wish all students well in their next steps in education, training or employment, and look forward to hearing about their future achievements”.
