Uniform changes from September 2017

25th July 2017

As you have already been made aware, A Delta Academies trust-wide uniform is to be introduced into all secondary academies from September 2017. Uniform Direct no longer supply our uniform.

Points to note regarding students in Years 8 – 11 from September 2017:

  • The current JWA tie will be replaced with a Trust-wide tie: this will be provided to all students in the first instance, free of charge and will be issued to all students on the first day back on Tuesday 5th September. Replacement ties must be purchased by parents/ carers at a cost of £4.99.
  • Year 8 – 11 students will not be expected to purchase a new Delta badged blazer for September. They may continue to wear their current JWA blazer until it needs replacing. However, should you wish to purchase a new Delta badged blazer, this is entirely at your discretion and cost.
  • Year 8 -11 students do not have to purchase Delta badged trousers or skirts, however parents are asked that they purchase the exact same styles shown in the pictures attached. (Boys: tailored black trousers as per current uniform policy; Girls: straight, tailored, knee length black skirt or tailored black trousers).
  • Parents/carers maintain the flexibility to purchase white shirts and blouses from a supplier of their choice.
  • Dress code regarding shoes remains unchanged. These must be black and polishable.
  • Dress code regarding make-up, hair, jewellery and nail varnish remain unchanged.
  • Students will be permitted to wear their current JWA PE kit, until it needs replacing. Parents may purchase the new Delta PE kit should they wish to, although this is not a requirement for September.

How to order and collect uniform

Method 1 – Online: www.sptuniforms.co.uk

  • You must REGISTER first (on the top right-hand side of homepage)
  • When inputting your personal information, you must select ‘John Whitgift Academy’ from the bottom of the drop down menu (school).
  • You can place your order to be delivered to your home address.  There is a delivery charge of £3.95 for standard delivery or £5.99 for courier ‘next day’ delivery.
  • Please note that any order placed over £39.99 includes free standard delivery to your home address.
  • During the summer holidays, you may use the ‘click and collect’ option. There is no delivery charge for using ‘click and collect’. Orders will be delivered to JWA and will be available for collection on the following dates/times:

2 August 10.00am – 3.00pm

9 August 10.00am – 3.00pm

31 August 10.00am – 3.00pm

  • For future reference, during term time there is a ‘click and collect’ option.  Orders will be delivered to JWA on a weekly basis and a text notifying when your order is available to collect will be sent when despatched. This is an ideal way of getting non-urgent replacement items free from delivery charges.

Method 2: Purchase at John Whitgift Academy

SPT Uniforms company will be at JWA with a ‘Pop Up Shop’ (dates above), where the whole range of uniform items will be available to purchase or order.  There will also be changing facilities available should your son/daughter wish to try sizes prior to ordering.  Payment on the day can be made (cash or credit/debit card).

Should there be any issues with your uniform order, we have two further dates early in the Autumn term when SPT uniforms will be at the Academy:

Tuesday 5th September 2.30pm - 6.30pm

Tuesday 12th September 2.30pm - 6.30pm
