Fun and frolicks as year 5 visit JWA

11th July 2018

Over the course of the last week of June and the beginning of July, John Whitgift Academy welcomed local primary schools for fun-filled activity days hosted by JWA staff and students.

Year 5 students were given a taster of what secondary school is all about, including: a guided tour of The Academy; learning a street dance routine with a professional dance teacher; driving our Green Power electric car (built by our very talented JWA students); creating stunning artwork; taking a dip in the JWA swimming pools (perfect in this spell of hot weather); burning chemicals in Science, and watching a film in the Whitgift Cinema.

All students were able to experience a taster of the range of the extra-curricular activities we have on offer here at JWA. The activity days were a fantastic opportunity for primary students to get to know our school and our staff, as well as reunite many primary teachers with their former pupils.

Thank you to all the primary schools which visited us for these special days: Wybers Primary School, Willows Primary School, Western Primary School, Little Coates Primary School, Macaulay Primary School, Nunsthorpe Primary School, South Parade Primary School, Great Coates Primary School, and Yarborough Primary School.
