An update from Mr Spendlow

Dear parent/carer and students,

I just wanted to make contact with all of our students and parents after our first week of this most unusual situation.  Ultimately, we do not exactly know how long this situation may persist and what support within education, we will be expected to give.

In the first instance, John Whitgift Academy is here to support the children of key workers that have no other choice, but to continue to send their children into school each day.  We are also here to offer our continued support when attempting to complete as much home learning as possible and via email, all of our staff remain ready to support, give advice and talk to you during these trying times.

Where possible, all of our students that are not attending school, should be safe within the isolation of their homes. From within the academy, we all continue to work on a rota system ensuring those needing our care and supervision are getting it.

During the course of the next few weeks, we will endeavour to keep you fully informed of any developments, but pledge to do our utmost to serve you and our local community.

Thank you for your continued support and together, when normality resumes, we will push forward to ensure success for all of our learners

Kind regards,

Mr R Spendlow
