JWA Service of Remembrance

In this particularly important year, where we commemorate 100 years since the end of World War One, we feel it is particularly important to join together and remember all those lost due to conflict. We would like to invite you to The Academy’s Service of Remembrance, taking place on Friday 9th November starting at 1300 hours. This invitation is open to you, friends, family and colleagues.

As an academy we will be sending out the invite to community groups, colleges, Territorial Army members, cadets, serving and ex armed forces personal, local Royal British Legion and family members of our students.

As part of the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust Grant scheme Mr Tuffnell was successful in securing five, ‘There But Not There’ silhouettes which will play a part in the service. The order of service is below and will take part, pending weather conditions, in the Remembrance Garden. Our 2017/18 year 7 students received an ‘outstanding’ award for the plans now seen in the garden at the Lincolnshire show this year.

We will be laying wreaths at our Poppy tree and if you would like to participate in this part of the service please join our students during the day of service.

Please inform The Academy or Mr Tuffnell (tuffnellp@johnwhitgift.org.uk) if you wish to attend and any further numbers to allow for refreshments prior to the service.
