Personal presentation is very important in the Academy, allowing all pupils to take pride in themselves and to be in uniform with the rest of the Academy pupils. Personal presentation includes suitable haircuts (shaved, partly shaved haircuts or hair styled/ dyed in bright colours or in unusual ways are unacceptable)
Minimal make up can be worn. No nail varnish or false nails.
A watch is the only jewellery allowed in the Academy. Rings, earrings and other facial / body jewellery are not permitted.
Hoodies, tracksuit tops and plimsolls are not to be worn. These items will be confiscated
Mobile Phones in JWA
Mobile phone and digital music players use inside the academy is strictly forbidden at all times. Should a parent wish to contact their child during the school day this can be done via the academy reception.
If a pupil is caught with a mobile phone the teacher will confiscate it and place it in the school safe. Parents and carers can then come into the academy to collect it at the end of the academy day.
Students are encouraged to utilise the Student Phone Bank operated through the main reception. Their mobile phones can be handed in at the beginning of the day and retrieved before setting off home. This ensures that there would be no chance of it being confiscated and so it will always be available whilst travelling back home.
