Staggered return and testing regime
Week beginning Monday, 6th September.
- All Year 7 students will start back in full time education on Monday 6th September. Their designated gate going forward is the gate situated next to the Sports Block. The gate will be opened at 8.05am each morning to allow students entry, but close promptly at 8.20am.
- Year 7 students once through the academy gate will meet their Tutors for registration and basic introductions. Those that have consented, will be tested for Covid-19 at this point. The second and final test will be completed in the academy within the next 5 days.
- All Year 8 students are expected to return on Wednesday 8th September. Their designated gate for the remainder of the year is located next to the Sports Block, shared with Year 7. The gate is opened from 8.05am each morning, and as students are already aware, closes promptly at 8.20am. Year 8 students will be welcomed by their period 1 teachers on the tennis courts and those that have consented, will undertake their first Covid-19 test. The second test will then be completed within the next 5 days.
- All Year 9 students are expected back into the academy from Tuesday 7th September. For the remainder of the year, their gate of entry will be the main gate situated between South Block and the Music department (opposite bike sheds). For Tuesday 7th September only, Year 9 students are to return at 11am. (staff will be waiting at the gate to welcome them in). From Wednesday 8th September, the gate will open at 8.05am and close promptly at 8.20am. As they arrive at 11am on the Tuesday, they will be met by their period 3 teachers, registered and for those that have given consent, will be tested for Covid-19. The second test will be completed within the next 5 days.
- All Year 10 students are to return to full time education from Tuesday 7th September. Their designated gate will be the gate traditionally used between the south block and the Music department at the front of the academy. The gate will open at 8.05am and close promptly at 8.20am. Upon their arrival, they will be met by their period 1 teachers and registered. Those that have consented, will be tested for Covid-19, then their second test will be done within the next 5 days.
- All Year 11 students are expected back into full time education from Monday 6th September at 12pm. For this day only, a later start will allow the academy time to complete, for those that have consented, the necessary Covid-19 testing. All Year 11 students will be registered and remain with their tutors going through their new timetables and planned intervention. Their gate of entry going forward is the gate situated next to the canteen, opposite Great Coates Primary Academy. The gate from Tuesday 7th September will be opened at 8.05am and close promptly at 8.20am.
