Course aims  The aims and objectives of the Pearson Edexcel Level 1/Level 2 GCSE (9–1) in Mathematics are to enable students to: ● develop fluent knowledge, skills and understanding of mathematical methods and concepts ● acquire, select and apply mathematical techniques to solve problems ● reason mathematically, make deductions and inferences, and draw conclusions ● comprehend, interpret and communicate mathematical information in a variety of forms appropriate to the information and context.  
Year 7 and 8 Course:  Year 7 are working on 'Mastery Mathematics' Year 8 are working on key skills and functional elements of mathematics.  
Year 7 and 8 Course Details  Stages 5, 6, 7, and 8: Number – 25% Ratio, Proportion and Rates of Change – 25 % Algebra – 20% Geometry and Measure – 15% Statistics and Probability – 15% Stages 9, 10 and 11: Number – 15% Ratio, Proportion and Rates of Change – 20 % Algebra – 30% Geometry and Measure – 20% Statistics and Probability – 15%
